It *may* be true this is the first time this has happened in 200 years - although you'd need to track 19th century French and British GDP carefully to confirm this.
Although what this means is a bit complicated. Stock Exchanges don't equal economies.

It’s a week since I binged #TheEnglish and I’m still thinking about it. I can really recommend it BUT you need to be able to get past the ropey Merican accents of a couple of big name British actors in the first episode. I nearly gave up after 10 mins, so glad I didn’t.

This, according to the @INCIndia and @RahulGandhi, is what they mean when they say #Savarkar collaborated with the British.
Plz understand, this is a serious blot on the character & efforts of such a revolutionary leader. We shouldn't have the audacity to indignify such great men

Having just listened to a podcast talking to the creator it's insane that British people were like going to destroy the BBC for what they have done when it's like. Pictures falling over and cats meowing

I do find it incredibly frustrating that EU countries can push back illegal immigrants & defend their borders with little of no criticism from British EU supporters but as soon as a British MP dares suggest the same apparently they’re all Nazis!

It's been a while since I read these so I'm hesitant to recommend based on how awful the McCaffrey's were, but Naomi Novik's Temeraire series.
I remember loving the dragon Temeraire and disliking the British aspects and how they treated Temeraire. So, my memory may be faulty on

A day out in that London …. Time to look up some reasonably priced watches…. British design this time. Research has thrown up a couple of dark horses. In life it’s important not to do the obvious - it’s often far too bloody expensive. @gwelfor57 #elitism

British eggs might be rationed, as supermarkets hold urgent talks on how to deal with shortages
Another option is importing from Poland, which will cause more price increases on top of the existing 22% rise
Eggs could become too expensive as people are already struggling

meaning there were no central government systems in the IBO precolonial system. That's why it failed because it was too expensive to run. There were too many leaders within the community, which brought numerous feuds that the British could not control;

5/7 The British used indirect rule in many of their colonies. It was far safer & far less expensive to let local leaders enjoy wide autonomy. The Brits wanted to avoid wasting blood & treasure in NZ. Their attitude enraged the likes of Dommet & Jermingham Wakefield.

I don't often recommend streaming services outside of iPlayer but I have to say #Andor is exceptionally good on Disney. It takes #StarWars in a whole new direction. It's also noticeably quite a British production. Looks like they spent a fortune on it, but it still feels grounded
